Several after thoughts and comments

This tour was not a holiday. It was an adventure, and a challange. It was not a road rally, nor a race. The route was well planned and the daily tours were short enough that it was never a major stress to just make it to the next overnight stop. I covered 7245 miles. The days were filled with unexpected adventure. Some tourist traps and some solitary times. Some days were arduous and some were a sheer delight. Some were hell and some were heaven. It was 7 weeks of living out of a Morgan. The group of people on this tour were all a treat to meet and to travel with. All were so helpful to each other. I learned more about Morgan on this tour than I ever could have imagined. It was so wonderful to have several on the tour that are such good mechanics. I am thankful to all on the tour. Steve Roarke, Elaine Fisher, .Kathy Tolworthy and Steve Kellerman for such good plans and such good organization. Then especially my good friends Ken and Pat for talking me into doing this in the first place. Steve R. again for the shipping of the cars and also for shipping my dirty laundry home from SFO due to too much luggage for Morgan to carry. Henry for his undaunting reminders to check the fluids in Morgan every morning and for his help when Morgan was not running right. George for his "first of the day". Jeremy for his teaching me lots of Morgan mechanics tricks. Emile for his many days of good company on the road. Marj for her good company on the road and shopping. Vern for all he has done with the support vehicle and his help in organizing. Rod for his time with us as good company, cigar in one hand and the GPS in the other. (someday Rod your gonna have a red +8). Donald for his comedy at the perfect moment in time. Keith and Susan for their promptness off the start line and drive to get to the finish first. Bill and Larry for their friendlyness at dinners or on walking tours, also a front damper plate. Propane-Pam for her cheeryness on the whole tour despite some difficulties, and her constant help to others when they were in need.. Old freinds Bill and Geri Button who probably did more miles in rougher conditions than anyone else, Geri your a trouper. Liz, it was always fun watching you wash your Mog, its is obviously something you love, your cheerieness delighted everyone else on the tour. Lita, now here is the life of the party on the tour, next time my dear you have to do the whole thing with us, not just part. Genette for her undaunting percervierence in doing this tour despite her Morgan not being ready. Joe, from Jackson, Mississippi, who set up the windsheld replacement and also sent a parcel of my souvenirs home for me. Linda Canon who joined us for the later part of the tour to keep the Fishers on track. Warren for spending the last half of the tour with us and enlightening many a dinner. Both Phil and Elaine who seem to always be there. Ben and Judy who did so well under the stress of an accident and who were often really good company at dinner for me. Ed, who planned to do a small portion of the tour but stuck it out to the very end despite the problems with his Morgan. Bart who drove a special Morgan, and his daughter Karey who was a spark of light so many times. Lisa, who finally got her new Morgan late in the tour, and brought so much fun to the rest of us during the whole tour. Bob and Thorley who were good company and good help to me so many times. Bob and Thorleys friend Jim Taylor, who seemed to be like an old friend the day he met us all. Steve and Sue for their company on the road and the will to get there even when there are pushrods out of place. Philip for his company and his piano playing, (even though I only heard it once) Norm and Eileen for their always being there when you need to see a friend on the road. (often I spotted them either up ahead, or in the mirror when I needed it.) Ron and Yvonne for making it to the east coast to spend part of the tour, it was a treat to get hollered at by name as a pedestrian on the street in Quebec city. And finally Sue, who without her company, the last leg of the tour would have been cold, lonely and miserable. Thanks also go to Linda at Morgan spares. We are all free spirits, one of a kind, with one cause that binds us together. The love of a Morgan. It has become apparent to me that it takes a special kind person with a special kind of personality to own a Morgan, a special kind of patience, love, and joy, to enjoy the life in one for a tour like this. We all got along famously together without a word of dislike from a soul. It is a testiment to all of us. Let us all hope we can do it as well again in 2005.
Morgan is home, safe and sound, showing a little wear and tear, but nothing a little wash and cleanout will fix up. The trophy is on display in the cabinet. Would I do this again. A resounding YES. Our future plans are still to be decided. We may do all or part of the next MOA tour. MOAIV click here to see link to the plans. If any of the members of the tour wish to email me with comments, errors, or omisions, please feel free to do so. If you have photos you would like considered for posting please email me for the file size. Cheers
